The Town Mill will be extending its opening hours to 8pm from Saturday for the next eight weeks.

Summer evenings will be filled with art and live music, every Saturday until the end of August in Lyme Regis.

The Town Mill will be extending its opening hours to 8pm from Saturday for the next eight weeks.

After the success of Millfest in May, the tourist attraction decided to capitalise on the availability of the surrounding businesses during its peak summer season.

Jim Davidson, staff member at The Town Mill, said: “We did Millfest as a one-off thing but people seemed to like it and it is nice to get the tenants such as the brewery serving their ale and the cafe serving food to take part.”

The eight-week-long event hopes to be the go-to destination for tourists and locals.

Visitors will be able to explore the 700-year-old working mill as well as visit one of the nine upcoming art exhibitions.

Out in the courtyard, young musicians from Lyme Regis’ B Sharp Youth Group will be performing from 6.30pm

Mr Davidson added: “On a nice fine summer evening, the courtyard is a nice place to sit and have a drink.”

During Lifeboat Week, the town’s Shanty Singers will be performing on Saturday, July 25.

‘Saturday Nights on The Mill’ will run until Saturday, August 29.
