Seaton Town Hall is given a new venue name

This great community building is also becoming increasingly renowned as being a fantastic entertainment venue.

Many of the bands who have travelled to play here come with the expectation of playing in a village hall and have been genuinely surprised to see the facilities.

Seaton Voice, which is now promoting the venue, is aiming to ensure this perception is changed not only for the performers website gig listings but, more importantly, for potential customers.

Elga Mackie said: “‘The Gateway’ at Seaton Town Hall has been selected as it reflects Seaton as one of the gateway towns to the Jurassic Coast whilst retaining Seaton Town Hall for those who will always know it as such”.

The concerts are averaging upwards of 250 to 350 every time, with many travelling from surrounding towns, with reports of accommodation providers benefiting from people staying overnight.

Holidaymakers have commented on how much they have enjoyed not only the entertainment but the relaxed, happy and welcoming environment.

With the new café area upstairs, Seaton Voice can now offer pre-theatre and interval drinks for its shows.

A spokesman said: “Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters who give so much time and effort towards this magnificent venue.
