Spectacular programme lined up for festival

This year s two-week Honiton Festival promises musical delights from major international stars, culminating in the spectacular Brilliance of Baroque, featuring world famous cellist Natalie Clien on Saturday, May 22.

This year's two-week Honiton Festival promises musical delights from major international stars, culminating in the spectacular Brilliance of Baroque, featuring world famous cellist Natalie Clien on Saturday, May 22. The Academy of St Martin in the Fields start off the Festival at St Paul's Church on Saturday, May 8, with a Chamber Ensemble, followed by Honiton Festival's patron for 2010, the renowned pianist John Lill, who will be appearing on Saturday, May 15.

Details for each event are as follows: l Academy of St Martin in the Fields Chamber Ensemble playing Mozart, Mahler, Schubert on Saturday, May 8, at 7.30pm

l Laura Virtanen, violin and James Baillieu, piano performing Beethoven, Schumann & Ravel on Friday, May 14, at 1pm.

l John Lill, on piano playing Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms and Liszt on

Saturday, May 15, at 7.30pm.

l The Piatti Quartet performing Mozart and Beethoven on Friday, May 21 at 1pm.

l Brilliance of Baroque, performed by the European Union Chamber Orchestra on Saturday, May 22, at 7.30pm
