Young singers to perform in Colyton

The Wells Cathedral School Chamber Choir will perform in St Andrew's Church, Colyton.

The Wells Cathedral School Chamber Choir will perform in St Andrew's Church, Colyton.

This group of around 20 young singers, were chosen for this choir from the already specially gifted students at the school, will make a welcome re-appearance under their distinguished conductor, Nigel Perrin. Mr Perrin was a founder member of the original King's Singers and is a musician of immense skill and experience.

The programme will include The Ballad of Sir Patrick Spens by Robert Pearsall, Somerset musician, best-known for his In Dulci Jubil", and a setting by Antony le Fleming (Devon) of Hilaire Belloc's Cautionary Tale, Matilda. A group of Shakespeare songs, madrigals, Renaissance motets and other items will make up a very varied programme.
